For those managing audio on the go, the headset allows you to control Bluetooth music directly using the multi-function volume wheel. A single press plays or pauses, two presses skip forward, and three skips backward, while depressing the wheel activates these controls. The ChatMix function can be accessed by long-pressing the volume button once to enter the mode, indicated by a tone, with further adjustments made via subsequent presses. On PC, users must install the free Sonar Software to enable this feature fully, though Xbox users have native support without additional software.

The device supports simultaneous connections for 2.4GHz and Bluetooth but plays only one audio stream at a time. If you receive an incoming call while gaming on the 2.4GHz connection, a notification will sound in the headset. Pressing the Power/Quick-Switch button answers the call and switches to Bluetooth mode automatically. A quick double press rejects the call, and pressing it again hangs up. Once the call ends, the headset returns to your game audio without manual intervention.

FAQ

Is the Arctis Nova 3XW compatible with my Xbox, PC, or phone?
The headset works seamlessly across Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC thanks to a nano-sized USB-C adapter that keeps ports accessible. For mobile use, it also supports Bluetooth 5.3, allowing you to connect your phone for calls or music without compromising gaming audio.

Can I listen to game audio and my phone at the same time?
You can maintain connections to both a 2.4GHz device and a Bluetooth device simultaneously, but the headset only plays one audio stream at a time. You can instantly switch between them by tapping the power button, which also automatically loads your saved preset for that connection.

How long does the battery last and how fast is it charging?
The Arctis Nova 3XW offers up to 30 hours of play on 2.4GHz wireless or 40 hours on Bluetooth. If you need a quick top-up, a 15-minute charge provides approximately 9 hours of gameplay.

Can I adjust the game and chat volume directly from the headset?
Yes, by long-pressing the volume dial once you can access ChatMix adjustments to balance game sounds against voice chat. The headset will play tones to indicate if you are in game-only, 50/50 mix, or chat-only modes. Note that on PC you must install the free Sonar Software to use this feature, while Xbox supports it natively.

How do I control music playback and handle phone calls?
You can answer incoming calls by pressing the Power/Quick-Switch button once; pressing it twice rejects a call. For Bluetooth music, press the multi-function volume wheel once for play/pause, twice to skip forward, or three times to skip backward.
