WAX620-100EUS specification sheet

Overview:

Netgear WAX620 AX3600 Dual Band PoE Multi-Gig WiFi 6 Access Point is designed to deliver fast, stable, and scalable wireless performance for business environments that demand consistent connectivity. Built on WiFi 6 technology, it supports higher device density while maintaining strong throughput and improved efficiency across both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

Description:

The Netgear WAX620 is a business-grade WiFi 6 access point engineered for high-capacity wireless networking. It combines AX3600 dual-band performance with a 2.5G multi-gig Ethernet uplink and Power over Ethernet support, making deployment simpler and more flexible. With support for up to 256 connected users and efficient handling of up to 75 concurrent active users, it is suited for offices, hospitality venues, education environments, and other high-density deployments. Management is streamlined through Netgear Insight or standalone configuration, giving administrators control over performance, security, and network segmentation.

Features:

High-Capacity Business Wireless Performance
The WAX620 delivers AX3600 combined wireless throughput with up to 2.4Gbps on the 5GHz band and 1.2Gbps on the 2.4GHz band. With 8 spatial streams, it improves data distribution efficiency and reduces congestion in busy environments where multiple devices compete for bandwidth.

This makes it suitable for environments such as conference centers, retail spaces, schools, and hospitality venues where stable connectivity is critical.

Key performance characteristics include:

• AX3600 dual-band WiFi 6 architecture
• Up to 2.4Gbps (5GHz) and 1.2Gbps (2.4GHz) throughput
• 8 spatial streams for improved multi-device handling
• Designed for high-density wireless environments

Network Capacity and Device Management
Built to support modern device-heavy environments, the access point increases overall network efficiency and capacity compared to previous WiFi generations. It helps maintain consistent performance even when multiple users are streaming, transferring data, or running cloud applications simultaneously.

• Supports up to 256 total connected users
• Handles approximately 75 concurrent active users efficiently
• Optimised for improved device battery efficiency through WiFi 6 enhancements

Connectivity and Installation Flexibility
The WAX620 includes a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, enabling high-speed wired backhaul and ensuring the wireless performance is not bottlenecked by uplink limitations. Power over Ethernet support reduces installation complexity by allowing both power and data to be delivered through a single cable.

Part Number / SKU: WAX620-100EUS

• 1 x 2.5G Ethernet port
• PoE support for simplified deployment
• Flexible wall or ceiling mounting options
• Suitable for structured business network installations

Seamless Mesh and Scalable Expansion
The device supports wireless mesh networking, allowing multiple compatible Netgear access points to work together without requiring additional cabling. This enables flexible expansion across larger or evolving environments.

Compatible with mesh setups using:

• WAX620
• WAX610 and WAX610Y
• WAC540 and WAC564

This allows businesses to extend coverage while maintaining a unified and seamless wireless experience.

Security and Network Segmentation Controls
Security is built around WPA3 encryption, providing stronger protection for wireless communications. The access point also supports multiple SSIDs, allowing separation of traffic across different user groups and device types.

• WPA3 wireless security standard
• Up to 8 separate SSIDs for network segmentation
• VLAN support for isolating departments and user groups
• Suitable for guest, employee, IoT, and administrative separation

Management and Deployment Simplicity
The WAX620 can be configured and managed through Netgear Insight or operated in standalone mode. This gives flexibility depending on network size and administrative requirements, from single-site setups to distributed business deployments.

It is designed to reduce setup complexity while still providing enterprise-level control over performance, security, and monitoring.
