Excellent camera, it easy to set up with the software. The cameras comes with its own server recording software.

The camera records to SSD card, or a NAS, if available.

Great daytime quality, however, the long distance focus could have been better because the images seem slightly blurry and are not very sharp for a Mega Pixel camera.

This will be the case with all midrange IP cameras, after all, this is not a digital cemara with a high end lens, so the quality still passed the standard.

The Night vision is excellent, something that most lower end, and even high end IP cameras fail misrebaly in. Images are super clear and very sharp. The Infra red filter improves image quality further, making images bright.

I did add an additional IR light, but this was not even required because the second camera I installed was just as clear.

Standard features include POe, 4 streams (one for Internet, one for high detail onscreen viewing, one for recording, etc). Various compression settings are available.

One great feature is that Vivotek does supply an additional grommet to use your own cable/s. The cables are easy to replace. Simply click the old one out and put in the new one. You can add your own network, power and Input signal cable. The cables are all connected as standard but they are short for my use, less than 30cm in length and quite thick. i only needed a single network cable with POe, and I decided to replace the cable.

Easy on paper, but one tiny, little problem cropped up, and this will not affect the majority of users.

When you are using your own network cable to replace the existing cable it is a really small space to work in and you need to be extra carefull not to push the cable in the wrong angle. It is somewhat of a
snug fit. The network connector is definately in the wrong place, however, this should be a once off job and like I said, not everyone will do this.

My verdict, a good buy.
